Future of Peace Talks in Northeast

The formation of the new government at the centre has led to confusion regarding the future of the negotiations with the insurgent outfits in the region. The Tripura Times (16 May), in an news item ‘Peace talks in State hangs in balance’ reported: “As a result of the change of guard in New Delhi the new Congress led government may adopt a new outlook in terms of solving the perplexed problem in the State. And this may have a cascading impact on the ongoing peace talks with the Nayanbashi Jamatiya faction.â€Â
