Fifteen years of violence and turbulence in Jammu and Kashmir have extolled a very heavy price from the state. Not only did it lead to the death of about forty thousand people, including terrorists, civilians and soldiers, it also set back the province severly in mosat fields. Has it turned the corner at last? Like many times before in its long and ancient history, the only region in the sub-continent where this can be traced back continuously for over two millennia, there have indeed been many ups and downs. Glorious achievements have given way to despair and agony accompanied by deepest suffering. We believe that the worst is now indeed behind us. The future opens up all the possibilities of a glorious new beginning.
