Brig SS Chandel says India should educate the "jehadis" on the futilty of their approach
The inheritors of the legacy of Mahmood Ghaznavi and Mohammed Ghauri continue to live in their make believe world that someday they will conquer
Kashmir
and then Hindu India if they persevere. They are told by their historians that their ancestors took 69 years to conquer Sindh and another 500 years to rule
Delhi
. Therefore 54 years is negligible time to ‘strive’ (Jehad) for
Kashmir
. That is Allah’s command. They have, they are told, great resources of oil wealth of the Gulf at their back now. And now they have even the powerful ‘Islamic Bomb.’
Pakistan
and
Afghanistan
whose national economies are collapsing or have already collapsed. The organizations involved in propagating this thought process such as Lashkar-e- Taiba,Jaish-e-Mohammadi and Hizb-ul-Muzahideen and others manage to obtain big funding both to live well and to wield enormous political clout there are no other voices to make them see reasons. Therefore it must fall to
India
’s lot to educate them and show them the perspective.
India
Tell Them?
India
should apprise them (1) Of the physical impossibility by means of ‘bleeding
India
by thousand cuts’ that its more like mosquitoes trying to kill an elephant by a thousand stings. Thousands of acts of violence occur in this country all over and are systematically tackled by the apparatus of the state. A few more will only lead to better fine-tuning of the process. The elephant never dies of mosquito bites. Even assassinations of our VIPs will not lead to any destabilization in our democratic set up where any number of able personages are available to fill any gaps caused. Such acts will only lead to hardening of our resolve. In fact it is strongly suggested that such statement should be endorsed by all the leaders of our political parties. (2) They have been able to infiltrate three thousand odd Muzahideens which compares pretty unfavourably with the 12 lakh strength of the Indian Army alone leaving aside the 100 crore population of India. They call all come and die in
Kashmir
and
India
but it will not make even a dent in
India
’s armour. (3) The people getting killed and harassed in the continuing hostilities are more their own coreligionists than their bete noire the Hindus. (4) The world has changed far too much from the days of Ghaznavi and Ghauri. It is far too closely interdependent to be ignored. The Islamic countries themselves are living under the protection of the
USA
. (5) The future of their own and that of their children lies in looking for a new paradigm in education and economic prosperity. (6) The ‘Islamic Bomb’ is an unusable weapon. It’s use will mean their own assured destruction at the hands of the west and other nuclear powers. (7) The line of antagonism given to them to tow is for the personal vested interests of their so-called ‘leaders.’
To this powerful fire of emotional appeal is added the fuel of monetary gains which is decidedly a strong incentive for the poor and the unemployed in
What should
The above thought process should be disseminated by means of TV, Radio and the print media. The features shold be done by renewed and personally convinced writers. As far as possible the language used besides English should be Urdu. A cell should be created in the relevant ministry to coordinate the efforts. It could have far reaching consequences. If one kind of brain washing by intense propaganda has been able to credit the present psychopathic midset in the 'Jihades', similar method is needed to reverse it. The logic appears to be on our side.
