South Asia today presents a disturbing spectacle in terms of political ferment and conflictual overtones. The traditional image of South Asia, exemplified by the Western strategic analysts as a nuclear flashpoint, seems to have been overtaken by instances of internal conflict. The spillover of such conflicts endangers regional security and peace.
India has far too long been preoccupied with its relations with Pakistan and Pakistan’s proxy war against India. The on-going peace dialogue between the two already seems to be a non-starter. India must realize that any dialogue with Pakistan amounts to a “dialogue of the deafâ€Â
