On 21 July 2016, Professor Devesh Kapur, Madan Lal Sobti Professor for the Study of Contemporary India, and Director, Center for the Advanced Study of India at University of Pennsylvania delivered a talk on "Engaging the World: Reforming India's Public Institutions."

The talk was chaired by Professor Varun Sahni, professor in International Politics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU),and the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Goa University.
