On 13 September, as part of its Reelpolitik visual showcase series, IPCS screened Triumph of the Will, a Nazi propaganda film made by Leni Riefenstahl in 1935 on Adolf Hitler's 1934 Nuremberg rally. The subsequent discussion centered on the themes covered by the film, such as the deployment of the visual medium for political propaganda, particularly within the context of organised, state-sponsored fascism.

IPCS' Reelpolitik is a pioneering platform for the study of security issues through visual representation. Reelpolitik showcases films that are closely interlinked with IPCS' research, followed by roundtable discussions on the subjects and concepts they cover. In so doing, it is hoped that the visual medium will give scholars and practitioners an insight into the extraordinary complexities that form the basis of strategic analyses, as well as expand these critical conversations to a wider audience of stakeholders.
